Day Camp Coordinator
Main Responsibilities
-
Plan and coordinate all day camp activities (programming, schedules, outings, special events).

Recruit, train, and supervise the animation team (counselors, assistants, volunteers).

Oversee daily camp operations (attendance, safety, communication with parents).

Collaborate with the Director of Community Development to ensure alignment of activities with the Centre du Sablon’s mission.

Manage the camp budget and necessary material resources.
-
Evaluate programs and propose improvements for future editions.
The tasks and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may vary depending on the needs of the position.
Your Profile:
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in day camp management
-
Experience in team management is a significant asset
-
Degree in Recreation or a related field (e.g., Education)
-
DAFA certification is an asset
-
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ease in learning other software
-
Knowledge of Ludik and IC3 software is an asset
This position is considered full-time occasional, as the duration and schedule of work vary depending on the day camp periods, with an average of 30 hours per week, increasing up to 40 hours during camp sessions (spring break, summer, and winter holidays).
Availability: Daytime, evenings, and weekends
Salary scale – Level 7 at Centre du Sablon: Minimum $27.30/hour

Assistant-coordinator community youth programs (0 to 14 years old)

Develops, plans, organizes, and supervises the smooth operation of various programs

Respects and communicates effectively with parents and colleagues to build relationships

Takes charge of and/or supports the organization of special events

Prepares the programming for their department

Attends meetings and training sessions related to their program

Prepares all reports related to their responsibilities: timesheets, evaluation forms, correspondence, and ensures follow-up

Performs any other related tasks

Your Profile:
-
2 years of experience in program and personnel management
-
A completed or in-progress diploma in recreation, leisure studies, or physical education, or extensive experience in a related field
-
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ease in learning other client management software (such as LUDIK) is an asset
-
Methodical, organized, autonomous, and flexible
-
Creative, especially for project development
The Position

Status: Part-time (30 hours/week)

Salary: Starting at $25.30/hour (based on experience), Level 6, 2025 pay scale

Schedule: Variable schedule depending on operational needs (evenings, weekends, and daytime)
